Risk Disclosure
Last updated June 14, 2026
1. Substantial risk of loss
Trading financial instruments, including forex, futures, contracts for difference, and other leveraged products, carries a high level of risk and may not be suitable for all investors. Leverage can work against you as much as for you. Before trading, you should carefully consider your objectives, experience, and risk appetite, and seek independent advice if you have any doubt. You may lose more than your initial deposit.
2. Backtested and hypothetical performance
Any backtested, simulated, or hypothetical results shown in or produced by QuantLab have inherent limitations and are not indicative of future results. Unlike a live trading record, simulated results do not represent actual trading and cannot fully account for the impact of factors such as:
- Slippage, spread widening, and partial or rejected fills;
- Commissions, swaps, financing, and other real trading costs;
- Market liquidity, gaps, and execution latency;
- The benefit of hindsight in designing or optimizing a strategy (curve-fitting / over-optimization).
A strategy that performed well on historical data may perform very differently, or lose money, in live markets. No representation is made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to those shown.
3. QuantLab is a software tool, not financial advice
QuantLab is a development and testing tool. It is not a broker, investment adviser, portfolio manager, or financial-services provider, and it is not registered or licensed as any of these. Nothing generated by, displayed in, or contained within the service constitutes financial, investment, legal, or tax advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any instrument. Strategies, code, and results are provided for informational and educational purposes only.
4. You are responsible for your own trading
You are solely responsible for evaluating, testing, and validating any strategy or code before deploying it, and for every trading decision you make and its outcome. You should independently verify generated code, test thoroughly on demo accounts, and never risk capital you cannot afford to lose. Alorny does not monitor your trading and accepts no responsibility for your results.
5. No guarantee of profit or accuracy
We make no warranty that any strategy or generated code is accurate, error-free, profitable, or fit for a particular purpose. Automated trading systems can fail due to software errors, market conditions, connectivity issues, or platform behaviour outside our control. You assume all risk arising from the use of any code or results produced by the service.
6. Regulatory note
Trading regulations vary by jurisdiction. It is your responsibility to ensure that your trading activity, and your use of automated systems, complies with the laws and regulations that apply to you and with your broker's terms.
7. Acknowledgement
By using QuantLab, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Risk Disclosure, that you understand the risks involved in trading, and that you accept full responsibility for your own trading decisions and their consequences.
